The cookies and browser storage we use, and what each one is for.

KovaPDF uses a few strictly necessary cookies and some browser storage. Below you can see what each one is for and how to control it.

01The cookies we use

We use three cookies. All are strictly necessary, so the law does not require us to ask for your consent. They are secured so that page scripts cannot read them, and they are sent only over encrypted connections.

pm_anonStrictly necessary12 months

A random identifier for your browser, set when you first use the site. We use it to apply usage limits and prevent abuse. It says nothing about who you are.

pm_sessionStrictly necessaryWhile signed in

Set only after you sign in. It keeps you signed in, and is removed when you sign out.

pm_oauth_stateStrictly necessary10 minutes

Set only when you use a third-party sign-in (the options shown on the login page). It protects that sign-in from being completed by another site.

We do not use advertising, tracking or analytics cookies.

02Browser storage

We also keep a small number of preferences and interface states in your browser’s local and session storage, for example that you closed a notice, saw a walkthrough, or rated a tool. It is kept on your device, and deleting your site data removes it.

Your browser may also keep an offline copy of the site’s own files, so pages load quickly and the site can be installed as an app. It holds none of your documents.

03Blocking or deleting cookies

You can delete or block cookies and site data in your browser settings. If you do:

  • without pm_anon, you may reach the usage limit sooner;
  • without pm_session, you cannot stay signed in. Tools still work without an account.

04Changes and contact
