Translate PDF

Open this page in Chrome or Edge, choose your PDF, pick the language it is written in and the language you want, and press Translate. The translation appears paragraph by paragraph, side by side with the original. You can then copy it, download it as a .txt file or a single web page, or save it as a PDF.

On your own device. Your browser reads the PDF, translates it with its built-in translator, and makes the download file too. Nothing is uploaded.

Chrome and Edge. The translator it uses is built into those browsers and isn't available in Firefox or Safari. In those browsers, the page tells you before you choose a file.

Forty-two, including Bangla and English. The first time you use a language pair, your browser may download it, which takes a moment and only happens once. Some pairs aren't supported by the browser, and you are told straight away.

Yes. "Save as PDF" opens your browser's print dialog with the translation laid out page by page, and there you choose Save as PDF. You can also download it as a .txt file or as a single web page. The original layout, images and fonts are not rebuilt: you get the translated text in reading order, headed with the original page numbers.

No. The translation runs on your own device, so there is no daily limit and it doesn't use up the hourly allowance of the other tools. A very long document takes longer, because your computer does the work.

Not directly. A scan is a picture of the page, so there is no text to translate, and the tool tells you when it finds one. Run the file through OCR PDF first to turn the picture into real text, then bring the result back here.

It is machine translation, the same kind your browser uses for web pages. It is good for understanding a document and finding what matters in it, and the side-by-side view lets you check any sentence against the original. For a contract, an official filing or anything you will sign, have the important parts checked by a person.

It stays on your device. Your browser opens the PDF, translates it and makes the download. Nothing is sent to us or anyone else, so there is no copy anywhere to keep or delete.

Yes. Every tool works without paying and without an account. Files can be up to 200 pages and 80 MB, and a run that fails costs you nothing.
